Mobile Browsers

I recently happened to realize that there are already two open source browsers avaiable for mobile devices :
They are definitely a good starting point to realize and customize services on mobile devices.

Current Google TV

Google Current TV is a new cable TV which is using Google Zeitgeist to produce video-news on recent trends in searching the internet. Every few days they even release a video on their site. This is an interesting example of how the internet search can become a trend revealer mean.

Vodafone and Nokia go for series 60

It seems that many of the new services of Vodafone will be targeted to the series 60 class of Vodafone.. not bad.. that's a good advanced device, and at least it will be easier to develop mobile applications.

Nokia Corporation and Vodafone have today announced that they are collaborating to strengthen the S60 software platform's role in Vodafone's device portfolio. from symbianone

Google Local for Mobile

It's really amazing what Google it's carrying on: now they even offer you for free the maps of Google Local on you mobile phone. Take a look to Google Local for Mobile.
I haven't tried it yet, but this convergence of interner and mobile it's something I like very much.. I am just wondering how they can support all these services for free. Is it just through advertising?

Internet services from the mobile phone

I found these very interesting examples of free software which allows you to access internet services like yahoo or flickr from your mobile:
  • Yahoo Go mobile: it gives access Yahoo free services from your Symbian mobile;
  • ShoZu: syncronization/upload with flickr, webshots, .. with J2ME and Symbian phones
  • MobUp: syncronization/upload with flickr with J2ME advanced phones (MIDP 2.0 + messaging + media)

This is definitly a relevant news: the launch of the beta of OfficeLive.

This seems a killer application for small businesses which wants to be on internet.
